Corrections Policy

How to report an error on CONN, how corrections are made and noted, and the public log of corrections to CONN explainers and listings.

What we correct

We correct factual errors in CONN explainers and pages, mistakes in how a headline or outlet is labeled or attributed, and broken or wrong links. Headlines and short excerpts that appear in our lists come from the publishers, so an error inside a publisher’s story has to be corrected by that publisher. If you tell us a listing is wrong, we will relabel or remove it.

How to report an error

Use the tip form and begin your message with CORRECTION, or go through the contact page. Please include:

  • the web address of the page,
  • what it says now and what you believe is correct,
  • a link to an official or primary source, if you have one.

Add your email address only if you want a reply. We review correction requests as soon as we can, but we cannot promise a response time.

How we make corrections

  • Explainers: we fix the text, update the “Last reviewed” date, and add a note on the page describing what changed and when. Small typographical fixes may be made without a note.
  • Headline listings: we correct the label or attribution, or remove the listing. Headlines themselves are shown as the publisher wrote them.
  • Archive pages: daily archive pages are saved snapshots. If a listing in one was wrong or must be removed, we correct or remove it and say so in the log below.

Corrections log

No corrections have been logged yet. When we publish one, it will appear here with the date, the page and what changed.
