Advertise with CONN
CONN: Charter Oak News Network is a Connecticut news and politics site. We gather the day’s Connecticut and national headlines, link every story to its original publisher, and publish original explainers on Connecticut government, taxes and elections.
Who CONN reaches
CONN is built for people who follow Connecticut public life: voters, taxpayers, small-business owners, parents and civic-minded residents who want to keep up with the General Assembly, the governor, the state budget and elections. The site is aimed at readers who want a Connecticut perspective that leans conservative and policy-focused, alongside mainstream local coverage. We do not publish audience numbers on this page (see the media kit below).
Available placements
Ads run on the home page, in two placements, each marked Advertisement and kept apart from the headline lists.
| Placement | Size | Where it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Mid-page banner | 728 × 187 pixels | Home page, between Top Connecticut Headlines and the Connecticut latest list |
| Sidebar rectangle | 300 × 250 pixels | Home page, top of the right-hand column |
On small screens both placements stay in the page flow and scale down to fit.
Creative specs
- File types: PNG, JPG or GIF. We run image ads only, with no scripts, iframes or third-party tags.
- Size: exact pixel dimensions shown above. Files at exactly twice the size (1456 × 374 and 600 × 500) are welcome for sharper display on high-resolution screens.
- Maximum file size: 150 KB, to keep pages fast.
- Click-through URL: one working https:// address that opens in a new tab. It must go to the advertiser’s own page, not a redirect chain, download or pop-up.
- Animation: no flashing, and no sound.
Ad policies
- Every ad is labeled Advertisement or Sponsored. Ads may not imitate CONN headlines or editorial content.
- No deceptive, misleading or fraudulent ads, no malware, and no ads for anything illegal.
- Political and issue ads must carry the “paid for by” disclaimer required by Connecticut and federal law. The advertiser is responsible for following the law, and nothing here is legal advice.
- CONN may decline or remove any ad at its discretion.
Editorial independence
Advertisers and sponsors have no say in what CONN publishes. Advertising never influences which headlines are chosen, how they are ranked or what our explainers say. See our editorial standards.
Brand safety
CONN lists headlines from many outlets, including opinion and political coverage, and shows each one under the publisher’s own headline. We do not write or control those headlines. Ads are never placed inside a headline, and they appear on the home page only, in the placements above. If you have category exclusions or other concerns, tell us in your message.
